Why Should You Use Siri AI?

You want directions to a place you haven’t visited before. You have a question but aren’t sure what to search for. Or you remember a family member sending you something, but you can’t find the message.

These are the kinds of everyday moments when Siri can help.

Why try Siri AI?

Because asking for what you need can be easier than figuring out where to tap, type, or search. You can start with one small task and learn at your own pace.

What Is Siri AI?

Siri is Apple’s built-in assistant. Siri AI is a newer version, powered by Apple Intelligence, that can help answer a wider range of questions and find information across your Apple apps.

Apple currently calls it a beta, meaning it is still being developed and refined. Its availability depends on your device, software, language, and region.

Start With Something Useful: Directions

Finding your way is a practical place to begin. Siri already offers help with directions; you don’t need the newest Siri AI features to start using that kind of assistance. Try asking for directions to a nearby coffee shop or a specific destination. Saying where you want to go can save you from typing an address into Maps. The benefit is simple: less time figuring out your phone and more time getting where you want to go.

Ask Questions in Your Own Words

With Siri AI, you can ask about a topic and continue with follow-up questions.

For example, try asking for ideas for a family weekend activity. Then ask a follow-up about an idea that interests you.

You don’t have to make your first question complicated. Think about what you would ask a helpful person, and begin there.

Spend Less Time Looking for Things

Have you ever thought, “I know someone sent that to me”?

Siri AI can help find information in your messages, email, calendar, and photos. You might ask it to find pictures from a vacation or locate a recommendation a family member sent.

That can mean less scrolling and less trying to remember which app holds the information.

Get a Little Help With Writing

Siri AI can also help draft, summarize, and review text.

If you’re struggling to write a note, describe what you want to say. Read the result and make changes so it sounds like you.

The value is having somewhere to start when the words aren’t coming easily.

How Do You Get Started?

For everyday Siri requests, say “Siri” or “Hey Siri” if voice activation is enabled. You can also press and hold the side button on an iPhone with Face ID.

Prefer typing? With Siri AI, you can type your question in the Siri app.

To try Siri AI on a supported iPhone:

1 Open Settings.

2 Tap Siri.

3 Tap Try Siri AI (Beta). If Siri is off, turn it on first.

4 Follow the instructions, including reviewing your privacy settings.

Apple currently requires iOS 27 and an Apple Intelligence-capable iPhone, such as an iPhone 15 Pro or a supported newer model. Setup includes a waitlist, so access may not begin immediately. Usage limits may apply.

Why It Matters

You don’t have to learn everything Siri can do at once.

Start with a question, a request for directions, or something you’re tired of searching for. The

reason to use Siri AI is to make those everyday tasks feel a little easier.
